I, for one, LOVED Bombshell. In fact, my Mira series was originally conceived as a Bombshell submission.
I'm not usually a category reader, but I read the hell out of the Bombshells. I recommended them to others, reviewed them on Amazon and passed them around to everyone. I've heard a lot of theories as to why the line wasn't successful, and NONE of them cited the quality of the writing as a factor.
I sincerely hope most of the authors, like you, find homes at other H/S lines or with single title publishers out there. And THANK YOU ALL for many enjoyable reading hours.
I've never been a reader of pure "romance" novels. I was skeptical when I picked up the first Bombshell, and quickly found myself drawn in. My first love was the Athena Force series. But, one by one, books emerged and I ran as quickly as I could (okay, actually I drove!) to the store to check for the new releases. I devoured them, giving them place of honor in my bookcases. Amazingly enough, even my 6'2", 275 lbs "mountain man" of a son decided to read a few of the books..especially the ones by Evelyn Vaughn.
When I read that Bombshell was going away, I wanted to cry. For just a few brief "moments" I had found a wonderful escape route. I shall miss the books...it will be odd to not eagerly await each new arrival. But, I do not despair!! I plan to keep up with the authors that I met and fell in love with through Bombshell. I hope to find more gems, nestling in the booksellers' racks just waiting for me!
Thank you, to you and all the others involved in Bombshell. It's been a great trip and I wouldn't have missed it for the world!
Toni and Freida,
On behalf of all the Bombshell authors, thank you!!!!!
:) Carol
